《 What is Washiki? 》
I use the term “Washiki” (coined from the word “Washi”) to refer to the perception of the world through gazing at the gap in the relationship between the object reflected in one’s eyes and looking at it. I call my paintings “Washiki-zu” and “Waki-saie” when they are colored.
